Deck Rehabilitation of Newark Bay Hudson County Extension B ridges Zones 2 and 3 Proposals are invited for Contract No. 1100.638, which involves bridge deck reconstruction using cast-in-place and precast concrete, parapet/safetywalk reconstruction, replacement of deck joints with strip seals, structural steel repairs, superstructure steel strengthening, jacking and temporary support of stringers for installation of laminated elastomeric bearings, cleaning and repainting of structural steel, and substructure spall repairs; roadway, lighting and drainage improvements; maintenance and protection of traffic; and all other incidental work along the Newark Bay- Hudson County Extension from Milepost N3.50 to N8.20 in the city of Jersey City in Hudson County, New Jersey. The project also includes railroad coordination, utility coordination and all other work required in the successful prosecution of the work. This work also includes removal of portions of existing bridge deck concrete (sound and unsound) and scarification of the existing deck at Structure N3.73 using hydro-demolition equipment to the limits shown on the Plans, or as ordered by the Engineer. This item includes the removal and disposal of all concrete debris, removal and disposal of damaged exposed reinforcement steel, vacuuming, water control and disposal, additional jack hammering, and all other work necessary to remove portions of the existing deck in accordance with the details and limits shown on the plans for placement of the new LMC overlay. Temporary Shielding is also required but paid for separately.
