The Project is expected to be awarded on April 5, 2022.** Metal Halide Lighting Conversion - Pedestrian Light Fixtures Type of Award Lump Sum Project Duration 150 days Bond Bid Bond 0.00% Payment Bond 100.00% Performance Bond 100.00% Q&A Deadline 02/04/2022 4:00 PM The City of South Lake Tahoe is seeking proposals from qualified companies for the procurement and installation (conversion) of approximately one hundred and twenty-six (126) 2200k or 2700k LED assemblies to replace the current 175W metal halide bulbs in the pedestrian light fixtures along the Highway 50/Lake Tahoe Blvd. corridor complete and in place (Base Bid) and the conversion of approximately eighty-eight (88) 4000k LED assemblies to 2200k or 2700k color temperature (Additive Alternate 1 & 2). The City of South Lake Tahoe owns and operates approximately 214 pedestrian light fixtures along the Highway 50/Lake Tahoe Blvd. corridor within the project area. One hundred and twenty-six (126) of the existing pedestrian lights are 175W metal halide bulbs (Attachment B). Given the wattage, the high energy-usage, and lifespan of metal halide bulbs, the city is looking to convert to LED assemblies that meet the same photometric standards as the current metal halide in a 2200k or 2700k temperature. LED retrofits will provide the same safety and lighting as the current fixtures but will have longer lifespan and provide the City with significant energy and financial savings. This work will be the Base Bid. Additionally, the city owns and operates eighty-eight (88) pedestrian light fixtures within the project area that are existing LED assemblies at a 4000k color temperature. To provide color temperature conformity with the Base Bid, the city desires to retrofit the existing fixtures with either 2200k or 2700k LED assemblies. This work will be Additive Alternate 1 and Additive Alternate 2. Local Business shall mean a business which maintains its principle place of business in a fixed office within the City of South Lake Tahoe and possesses a current South Lake Tahoe business license. To establish a principle place of business in South Lake Tahoe, a business must demonstrate the majority of its principals are based in the South Lake Tahoe office, and that it pays South Lake Tahoe payroll taxes on at least 51percent of its total payroll.
