Renovation of a library in Bernardsville, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Executive Director, Alexandria Arnold, of the Borough of Bernardsville Public Library in the County of Somerset, State of New Jersey, in the main level Community Room located in the Bernardsville Public Library at 1 Anderson Hill Road, Bernardsville, New Jersey on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., prevailing time, and at that time and place publicly opened and read for the Bernardsville Public Library Front & Rear Door Replacements and Automatic Door Operator Installations. Notice is also hereby given that due to the Coronavirus Health Emergency, anyone attending the bid opening must be wearing a face covering that covers the nose and mouth and maintain social distancing protocols. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The work to be performed under this contract includes the removal and replacement of the existing front lobby, and rear patio, paired, main exterior entry doors and frames. Construction shall include installation of new automatic operated, hinged, aluminum framed storefront type doors, transoms and glazing as specified. The work shall also include installation of selected surface mounted automatic operators, ADA push plates and other door hardware, as well as electrical work and hardware related to automatic operator installations at these entries. The project scope shall also include sheetrock patching and painting as required to install the required electrical wiring. The wiring shall be run from the existing main floor electrical panels and closet to the replaced doors as indicated on the documents. An alternate price is requested for the replacement of specified surface mounted automatic door operators with concealed units as described in the project specifications. The architectural scope of work shall be as detailed on the construction documents prepared by Daniel W. Lincoln, R.A., LLC, and dated January 20, 2022. CONTRACT DOCUMENTS Plans and specifications and proposal forms are on file and open to public inspection at the Project Architect's Office and may be obtained at the office of Daniel W. Lincoln, Architect, LLC; 28 Olcott Avenue; Bernardsville, NJ 07924 (908) 204-0088, by appointment, between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm, prevailing time, Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, beginning on January 20, 2022, upon payment of $30.00, payable to Daniel W. Lincoln, Architect, said sum not refundable. (Covers 3 sets of architectural prints and 1 set of bid specs) Obtaining bid documents shall be "contactless". The bidder shall be required to call the architect's office (908) 204-0088 and shall place the payment in a box outside the office front door, and then shall step away at least 6 feet for retrieval of the bid drawings and documents placed in a plastic documents bag switched with said payment. Copies of the bid documents will also be available on January 20th at the Library Community Room project walk through scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Each bid must be made on the prescribed forms furnished with the Contract Drawings and Specifications, including Non-collusion Affidavit, and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety and a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond of not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid, and not to exceed $20,000.00. Bids may be submitted by mail, but will be considered only if received on, or before such date & time. Work includes removal of two (2) existing exterior paired hinged entry doors, transoms and frames located at the main level, front lobby and rear patio entries, and replacement of same with two new aluminum storefront type paired doors, transoms and frames, and electrical wiring as required to install three new automatic operators as specified in the bid documents. The quote shall include electrical wiring and patching and painting of disturbed sheet rock. Unless otherwise noted, most ceilings at the Library Main floor level are suspended acoustical tile except at the front entry lobby, the rear circular periodicals room and above the rear patio entry doors. Refer to the reflected ceiling plan for ceiling types. All materials/debris are to be removed from the site at the contractor's expense. Quote shall be inclusive of all costs to complete the project to include but not limited to the cost of required material, labor, etc.
