Site work for a power facility in Macdonald, Manitoba. Conceptual plans call for site work for a power facility.
Construction of a new 230-kV transmission line from Dorsey converter station (northwest of Winnipeg) to the new, to-be-built Wash’ake Mayzoon station (west of Portage la Prairie). The new transmission line will increase system capacity to meet growing electricity needs and enhance reliability for customers in Portage la Prairie and surrounding areas. TIMELINE: Project is conceptual. The new transmission line will increase system capacity to meet growing electricity needs and enhance reliability for customers in Portage la Prairie and surrounding areas. The owner has developed the environmental assessment report that included the preferred D83W route and submitted it to Manitoba Environment, Climate, and Parks for review as of November 2022. Construction is tentatively planned for 2025, pending regulatory approvals are in place. Regulatory review is slated for 2023. The Wash’ake Mayzoon station construction is covered under a separate report. Updates may be available fall 2022. *Budget has not been disclosed.
