CAT (Collier Area Transit) Bench Installation The intent of this solicitation is to obtain a contractor that would be responsible for reinstalling five of the Collier Area Transit (CAT) benches provided by County at existing bus shelters. The County will provide the list of the locations of the shelters that require benches. All surface preparation, material, labor, equipment, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and any other items required to properly install the structures per the bench manufactures recommendations shall be considered incidental to the work. Q & A deadline: Jan 18, 2022 5:00:00 PM EST Bench Install Description: The five (5) benches listed for installation on this Bid consist of the following: a southern style gray 6-foot recycled plastic with multiple armrest bench. Each of the legs must be anchored with bolts to cement for security. Contractor shall provide all fasteners (3/8-16x2 3/4 " Wedge Anchor bolts recommended) necessary to anchor bench to concrete slab. Fasteners must be of a material that will not rust or corrode in outdoor installations and will not be affected by any weather conditions. Bench must be installed to the furthest left side under the shelter leaving a clear area of 4' feet to the right side of the shelter for ADA wheelchair accessibility. A photograph of the bench style and location is provided in Exhibit A of this document. Weather and Temperature Limitations for Field and Maintenance Coating: Ensure the ambient air temperature, relative humidity, and dew point and surface temperature of the steel to be coated are within limits recommended by the coating manufacturer. Do not apply coatings when contamination from rainfall is imminent or when the temperature or humidity is outside limits recommended by the coating manufacturer. Protection of Adjacent Surfaces: Protect all surfaces not intended to be touched, which are adjacent to, or in close proximity to the bench to be installed, during the drilling for anchor bolts. Clean surface after bench installation to have an acceptable appearance. The Contractor shall warrant this work to be free of defects in for a period of one (1) year from the date of acceptance by Collier County.
