For the Asphalt Overlay and Repair Project located at the Mason High School, 6100 Mason Montgomery Road, Mason, Ohio 45040 and the Mason Early Childhood Center, 4631 Hickory Woods Drive, Mason, Ohio 45040. The probable cost for the total construction contract is $350,000. Bids shall include all labor, materials, equipment, special tools, and services required to complete the work in accordance with the Contract Documents. Each proposal shall contain the name of every person interested therein. Each proposal shall meet the regulations of Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid (including add alternates) or a certified check, cashiers check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid amount, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. No bids may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, to reject any or all bids, and to conduct such review as necessary to determine the responsibility of any bidder submitting a bid for the Project. DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. The Work under consideration for bidding shall be the Work shown on the Drawings and described in the Specifications for the project titled Asphalt Overlay and Repair Project, as prepared by VSWC - Architects, Inc. These bidding documents are the Contract Documents. In general the Work includes selective exterior demolition, asphalt paving, concrete work and granular base. Unless otherwise noted, all items, material, processes, and procedures included in these specifications are to include both labor and material necessary for a complete job. SPECIAL SCOPE REQUIREMENTS A. The Project is a signature project for the Owner and construction of the highest quality is vitally important to the staff and community. In this respect, each contractor assumes a position of trust and confidence in the performance of its duties to the Owner and shall perform its Work on the Project with the highest degree of competence, diligence, coordination and workmanship.
