Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of July 25, 2023, an engineer has been awarded to provide an assessment. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Winston-Salem- Forsyth County Utilities (WSFC Utilities) water system includes three water treatment facilities that can process up to 91 million gallons per day. The scope of this project will focus on two of these facilities, the P.W Swann Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and the R.A. Thomas WTP. The P.W. Both facilities have large raw water reservoirs that experience algal growth during the summer months which results in particle breakthrough in the filters, tastes and odors. WSFC Utilities is requesting qualifications from engineering firms to perform an evaluation of the existing treatment process at both plants and propose new/additional treatment strategies to treat these issues in the most cost-effective manner. The selected engineering firm will provide all designs and documents necessary for permitting, construction and bidding resulting from the study. The selected firm will also likely provide construction administration on this project. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
