In addition, successful Bidder must ensure employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. Bidders must submit a Cashier's or Certified Check issued by a bank satisfactory to Owner, or a Proposal Bond from a reliable Surety Company, payable without recourse to the order of City of Levelland in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid submitted as a guaranty that Bidder will enter into a contract and execute bonds in the forms provided within fifteen (15) days after notice of award of contract to him. All Contractors/ subcontractors that are debarred, suspended, or otherwise excluded from, or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs, may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this Project. Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of the Contract, written by a responsible Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, and satisfactory to the Owner, as required by Article 5160, V.A.T.C.S., as amended by H.B.344, passed by the 56th Legislature, Regular Session 1959. Bidders are expected to inspect Site of the Work and inform themselves regarding all local conditions. The Work will be substantially completed within 90 days ; final payment within 120 days after the date when Contract Times commence to run.
