Remodeling of a mixed-use development in Rexburg, Idaho. Working plans call for the remodel of a educational facility.
As of January 18, 2022, an architect and a CM/GC has been selected and this project is in the pre-construction/negotiated status. Design is complete and the project is pending funding. A bond election will be held March 8, 2021. Construction is expected to start in March 2022. Proposed bond projects: *A new, larger Hibbard Elementary will be built on owned land, just west of the current Hibbard building. *Remodel the current Hibbard building and turn it into a Madison Early Childhood Center. Once remodeled, move early childhood programs from Burton and Kennedy to this location and still have room to expand and grow. *Add nine classrooms at Madison Jr. High. This additional space would take the enrollment capacity up 400. In addition to the classrooms, an Atrium is proposed to be built off the current lunchroom. This will provide more lunch seating, common space and connect the science and math wings. As of January 17, 2022, this project is in the conceptual phase and pending funding. A bond election will be held 3/8/2021. An architect has not been selected. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to December 2022.
