Site work for a water / sewer project in Saint Clair, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

We understand the project includes relocating the existing sanitary sewer present within the backyard of residential properties along North Riverside Avenue within the City of St. Clair, St. Clair County, Michigan. The new sanitary sewer will be moved further west, away from the existing seawall along the St. Clair River. The new sanitary sewer will be constructed in segments at the following address: 916 North Riverside Avenue, 962 North Riverside Avenue, and 1028 North Riverside Avenue. No information regarding the proposed sanitary sewer size, proposed invert depths, or installation methods were available upon completion of this proposal. However, we assume the sanitary sewer will be generally installed by open cut excavation methods at depths ranging from 7 to 10 feet below existing grades. The field operations, laboratory testing, and engineering report preparation were performed under direction and supervision of a licensed professional engineer. Our services were performed according to generally accepted standards and procedures in the practice of geotechnical engineering in this area. Our scope of services for this project is as follows: 1. We drilled a total of three (3) soil borings, B-1 through B-3, along the proposed sanitary sewer new alignment, extending to a depth of 15 feet each. 2. We performed laboratory testing on samples obtained from the soil borings. Laboratory testing included visual engineering classification, moisture content, organic matter content, dry density, unconfined compressive strength determinations. 3. We prepared this engineering report. Our report includes recommendations for underground construction, including pipe support and construction considerations related to the geotechnical conditions along the proposed sanitary sewer alignment.
