Description: Renovation converting an unoccupied building into a new CTE training facility. The scope for this first phase includes renovation of the mostly open plan existing building to provide offices, classrooms, a welding instruction lab, a trucking instruction bay, trucking simulator room, restrooms, and other MEP supporting spaces. The exterior will remain in its current state with the exception of the new openings being added. Some rooftop HVAC equipment will need to be replaced to support first phase improvements. Includes limited demolition of site and existing building elements. Alt #1: Additional interior build out of a second classrooms including finished, AV and MEP needs.
Alt #2: Motorizing and adding access controls to the trucking range entry gates.
Alt #3: Levels of concrete finish for the trucking bay offering differing levels of performance and value depending on current cost outcomes. Additional info: The project will include the demolition of the existing concrete floor in the trucking bay. The existing floor will be replaced with a new structural concrete floor to support the intended truck weights. This bay will also include the installation of a specialty bridge crane to support the instruction and use of that bay. The welding lab will also include the relocation and installation of a range of specialty fabrication equipment. Classrooms and other project features will generally need to meet USU standards. Scope includes but is not limited to: selective site demolition, selective demolition, concrete reinforcing, cast-in-place concrete, polished concrete finishing, structural steel framing, cold-formed metal framing, metal fabrications, plastic paneling, thermal insulation, acoustical joint sealants, hollow metal doors and frames, flush wood doors, access doors and frames, sectional doors, door hardware, glazing, non-structural metal framing, gypsum board, ceramic tiling, acoustical panel ceilings, resilient base and accessories, tile carpeting, interior painting, room-identification panel signage, wall & door protection, toilet accessories, fire extinguishers and cabinets, quartz agglomerate countertops, plumbing, HVAC, testing & balancing, Electrical, communications, A/V rough in system, access control system, IP video surveillance system, fire alarm & detection, site grading, subgrade preparation, trenching, fill, subbase courses, aggregate base courses, hot mix asphalt, curbs & sidewalks, precast concrete parking bumpers, pavement markings, ornamental fences & gates, stormwater gravity piping, stormwater curbside drains & inlets. Budget: $2,600,000.00.
