Site work for a water / sewer project in Lancaster, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of Bids. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the Agency Engineer. Discrepancies in, and/or omissions from the Bid or Contract Documents or questions as to their meaning shall be immediately brought to the attention of AVEK by submission of a written request for an interpretation or clarification to AVEK. Such submission, if any, must be sent to Justin Livesay at jlivesay@avek.org. Questions must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on JANUARY 4, 2022. Questions received after this date and time may not be answered. The WORK includes but is not limited to the following: A. Mobilize and demobilize all required equipment for the construction of Recovery Wells as described by these contract documents, specifications, and plans. B. Clearing and grubbing to provide adequate unobstructed working space for the Recovery Wells at each site. C. Meet discharge and waste requirements. D. Develop as required to accomplish the WORK all temporary facilities including but not limited to temporary water supply, water storage, disposal systems, temporary lighting, temporary power supply, required storage tankage, and safety measures requirements. E. Furnish, install and impervious-seal a 36-inch diameter by 0.50-inch thick steel conductor casing in a 42 -inch diameter borehole to a depth of 50 feet below ground surface (bgs) required for the Recovery Wells at each location. F. Drill a (maximum) 17.5-inch diameter pilot hole from 50 to a maximum depth of 1,200 feet bgs required for the Recovery Wells at each location. G. Collect and preserve grab formation samples and submit for analysis at intervals prescribed by this Specification for the Recovery Wells at each location. H. Perform directional and deviation survey of the pilot hole for the Recovery Wells at each location. I. Perform a geophysical survey of the pilot hole for the Recovery Wells at each location. J. Ream the pilot hole to 32-inches and 26-inches diameters to depths specified in the final well design. For bidding purposes, assume reaming to 32-inch diameter from 50 feet to a depth of 430 feet bgs. Assume reaming to 26-inch diameter from 430 feet to a depth of 1,000 feet bgs (as shown in Drawings). K. Perform a caliper survey of the reamed borehole for the Recovery Wells at each location. L. Furnish and install an 18-inch inside diameter, 3/8-inch wall thickness HSLA blank sump for the Recovery Wells at each location. M. Furnish and install an 18- inch inside diameter, HSLA Ful -Flo louvered well screen for the Recovery Wells at each location. N. Furnish and install an 18- inch inside diameter, 3/8-inch wall thickness HSLA blank casing for the Recovery Wells at each location. O. Furnish and install nominal 2.5-inch diameter mild steel filter pack fill feed tube for the Recovery Wells at each location. P. Furnish and install 6 x 9 silica sand filter pack for the Recovery Wells at each location. Q. Furnish and install No. 1C Silica Sand for the Recovery Wells at each location. R. Furnish and install hydrated bentonite intra-annular seals for the Recovery Wells at each location. S. Furnish and install cement sanitary seal from ground surface for the Recovery Wells at each location. T. Perform mechanical and chemical well development for the Recovery Wells at each location. U. Install, operate, and remove temporary pumping equipment and appurtenance for pumping development assuming up to 2,250 gpm with the pump intake at 550 feet bgs for the Recovery Wells at each location. V. Furnish and install pressure transducers and sounding tubes. W. Perform pump development by pumping and surging for the Recovery Wells at each location. X. Perform step-drawdown test by pumping for the Recovery Wells at each location. Y. Perform a static flow velocity survey and fluid temperature and conductivity logging for the Recovery Wells at each location. Z. Perform a 48-hour constant-rate discharge test by pumping for the Recovery Wells at each location. AA. Conduct a spinner-log survey with depth specific groundwater sampling for the Recovery Wells at each location. BB. Perform a color video survey for the Recovery Wells at each Location. CC. Conduct a well alignment/deviation test by gyroscopic methods for the Recovery Wells at each location DD. Complete final disinfection and provide temporary lockable lid for the Recovery Wells at each location. EE. Construct a well completion pad with removable bollards for the Recovery Wells at each location. FF. Furnish, and install a minimum 8.5-inch diameter by 0.50 -inch thick temporary steel conductor casing to a depth of 20 feet below ground surface (bgs) required for the Grouted Piezometer Array. The CONTACTOR may alternatively elect to furnish, install and impervious-seal a minimum 8.5-inch diameter by 0.50-inch thick permanent steel conductor casing to a depth of 20 feet below ground surface (bgs) at no additional cost to the AGENCY. GG. Drill a nominal 8 -inch diameter borehole from 50 to 1,000 feet bgs required for the Grouted Piezometer Array. HH. Collect and preserve grab formation samples at intervals prescribed by this Specification for the Grouted Piezometer Array. II. Perform a geophysical survey of the borehole for the Grouted Piezometer Array. JJ. Perform a caliper survey of the borehole for the Grouted Piezometer Array. KK. Furnish and install 2-inch outside diameter, flush-threaded, schedule 80 PVC drop pipe equipped with the four vibrating wire pressure transducers (ENGINEER furnished). LL. Furnish and install cement-bentonite grout seal from ground surface to 100 0 feet bgs (total depth) for the Grouted Piezometer Array. MM. Construct a well completion pad with removable bollards for the Grouted Piezometer Array. NN. Provide containment, transport and disposal of all Hazardous drill cuttings in a legal and proper manner for the Recovery Wells and Grouted Piezometer Array at each location. OO. Provide containment, transport and disposal of all Non-Hazardous drill cuttings in a legal and proper manner for the Recovery Wells and Grouted Piezometer Array at each location. PP. Provide containment and disposal of drilling fluid, solids settled and filtered from all waste related to the Recovery Wells and Grouted Piezometer Array construction in a legal and proper manner at each location The project is located within the area bounded by the State Water Project East Branch to the south, 280th Street W to the east, 300th Street W to the west and West Avenue A to the north in the unincorporated portions of Los Angeles County , Antelope Valley California. The specific Recovery Wells and Grouted Piezometer Array is within the area bounded as described above and is referenced on the plans and construction documents. Construction of four Recovery Wells, and one Grouted Piezometer Array inclusive of providing all materials, labor, equipment, ancillary/temporary works, testing, mobilization/demobilization, site cleanup and project close out shall be a ccomplished within 180 calendar days. Should the AGENCY elect to award Additive Item A and or Additive Item B (additional recovery wells) in the bid, an additional 40 calendar days per additive item will be awarded to complete the work. The Contractor shall construct the Grouted Piezometer Array as the first order of work. The Recovery Well locations shall be constructed in the following sequence: R3, R2, R13, R11, R9 (if awarded), R18 (if awarded). The Contractor, at his option and in accordance with the Contract Documents, may accomplish the work in a parallel fashion using multiple drilling rigs and project personnel to meet the required schedule.
