Renovation of an educational facility in Madison, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Project awarded to : Hooper Corporation HVAC = $895000.00 Forward Electric, Inc. Electrical = $ 32625.00 No Bids Received for plumbing. Total = $927625 In general, the work consists of extending central campus utilities east of the Environmental Health & Safety building located at 30 E Campus Mall underneath East Campus Mall/Murray Street into the Environmental Health & Safety building. Connections for high-pressure steam, pumped condensate return, and compressed air will be made in utility pit #14.2-13 and extended through a direct buried piping. Chilled water supply and return will connect to direct buried lines running north-south, located west of the utility pit and extended into the building. A new pressure reducing valve (PRV) will be installed and the boilers will be removed and replaced with a steam to hot water converter. The cooling tower will be removed and a new plate heat exchanger will be installed for each of the two chilled water systems connected to central campus utilities Base Bids will be received as a single lump sum bid for: 3) Plumbing; 4) Mechanical (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning); and 5) Electrical. This project is being let using a new single prime bidding and contracting process. DFD will publicly bid the applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions of work first. Within 5 days of the MEP bid opening, DFD will identify a lowest, qualified, responsible, certified bidder in each applicable MEP division of work. These successful MEP bids must be included in all general prime contractor bids received The state will enter into a single contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor and this general prime contractor will enter into subcontracts with the successful MEP bidders
