Fremont Unified School District ("District") is an innovative and award-winning PreK-12 district located in Alameda County. Situated in the City of Fremont, the District serves approximately 34,782 students. The District currently operates two preschools, twenty-nine elementary schools (K-2, 3-5, K-5, or K-6), five junior high schools (6-8 or 7-8), five high schools, one K-12 school, one alternative high school, one continuation high school, and one special education school. The District invites any qualified firm to submit a Submittal demonstrating its ability to provide the fire alarm testing & inspection services described herein for the District. The forty-seven (47) District sites requiring fire alarm testing & inspection services are listed at Attachment 1. Any firm selected must be capable of providing the full scope of services described below for any and all of the forty-seven (47) District sites, listed in Attachment 1 hereto, in accordance with the District's form of Independent Consultant Agreement for Fire Alarm Testing & Inspection Services ("Agreement"), provided at Attachment 3 hereto. Services will include, without limitation, fire alarm testing, and inspection in accordance with both NFPA-72 and California Fire Codes. The final scope of services shall be negotiated upon District's selection of the respondent(s), but shall take into account the following: A. Basic Services and Minimum Qualifications 1) The contractor must possess the following: i. a valid and current C-10 Electrical Contractor License; ii. certification in Fire Alarm Testing and Inspection, iii. State of California Fire / Life / Safety technician certification; iv. State of California electrician certification; v. knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA-72) and California Fire Code; vi. successfully provided similar fire alarm testing, and inspection services to Districts of similar size for at least five (5) years; vii. knowledge on all other current alarm systems, as detailed in this RFP/Q. 2) Testing, maintenance and inspection work must be completed during evening hours, break schedules, including summer break. Summer break typically begins in mid-June and ends in mid-August. Testing and inspection work will not be allowed while staff and/or students are on site.
