Saving Project...

New construction of a museum in Toronto, Ontario. Working plans call for the construction of a 55,000-square-foot, six-story above grade museum.

Construction of an addition above the eastern volume of the AGO to provide 40,000 sq ft of new programmable space across five floors. The structure will effectively increase the total floor space by 30 percent, allowing for the creation of 13 new gallery spaces. The project will add six floors of exclusively dedicated gallery space to the AGO for the exhibition of extraordinary modern and contemporary art. The project will realize approximately 55,000 square feet, which when completed, will be constructed to achieve net zero carbon targets through the continued employment of high-performance building components and leading-edge technologies. TIMELINE: Designs are ongoing. Sub trades will be secured by invitation. Construction is expected to begin May 2024 through to late 2026. *ERA is the Heritage Architect for the project.
