The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, Recreation Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC) Branch is seeking to enter into a Provincial Partnership Agreement for the maintenance and supervision of Cooke Creek Recreation Site located near Enderby, British Columbia for a term of One (1) year commencing May 1st, 2022, with an option to renew for two (2) additional years. The successful Proponent will provide the maintenance and management of Cooke Creek Recreation Site (located near Enderby) as a "fee-for-service" Recreation Site(s) by means of a Provincial Partnership Agreement, negotiated with the Ministry. Recreation Site and Trails BC (RSTBC) manage public campgrounds and trails located on Crown Land outside of BC Parks and settled areas. RSTBC manages what was formerly known as Forest Service recreation sites and trails. These areas are now managed by RSTBC within the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development. Recreation Sites and Trails BC is establishing a list of qualified Recreation Site Operators for Cooke Creek, Recreation Site located outside of Enderby, BC. Recreation Site Operators conduct the following in Recreation Sites: o Be on-site for supervision, safety and maintenance purposes on the days when the camping permit is required (seven days a week is usual, May 1 to September 30); o Maintain recreation site facilities and user areas with daily cleaning, general repairs, and annual renovations (including painting); o Collect fees from campground users; o Public outreach, including providing general information to visitors including distribution of materials; o Inform public of rules and camping stay limit; o Monitor visitor use (counting visitors and recording their activities); o Report recreation facility condition to RSTBC; o Maintain signage and posters; o Observe, record, report, including taking photographs, to report incidents such as safety issues, serious injuries and/or deaths as well as suspicious activities to RSTBC and enforcement agencies (when/if applicable); and, o Field season reporting to RSTBC (pre- and post-season reports). Agreements are one year, with condition to renew for two additional years upon successful completion of year one. Submissions should contain: Contact details, personnel, capabilities and experiences, and minimum 2 references to speak on your job-set skills. An additional Proposed Annual Operating Plan will be requested during the selection process.
