Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in New London, Connecticut. Design plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The Southbound Gold Star Memorial Bridge will undergo construction to widen the existing sidewalk to a shared use pathway, which will follow the completion of the Steel Strengthening of the Southbound Bridge project. As of November 11, 2025, this project is in the design phase. VHB is the lead designer with HNTB handling the approaches to the bridge sidewalk. Construction is anticipated to take place in 2028 and 2029.
