The City of Newburyport, Department of Public Services is accepting Invitation for Bids (IFB) from qualified contractors for the resurfacing and maintenance of various roadways throughout the City, pursuant to M.G.L. C30, 39M. The proposed work under this contract will include full depth pavement reconstruction & reclamation, pavement milling, overlaying, excavating existing pavement, fine grading and compacting prior to paving. Also, hot mix asphalt paving/curbing, removing and resetting/installing new or existing granite or brick curbing. Reconstruction or constructing new sidewalks and driveway aprons to meet ADA/AAB requirements. Placing safety controls and signage for construction operations and other incidental items will be required. Prevailing wages apply. This work shall consist of removal of a variable depth up to 3" maximum of existing asphaltic concrete pavement by milling (cold planning) Questions regarding the portal or IFB distribution should be directed to portal at 978-499-9014. Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a Bid Bond, Treasurer's Check, Cashier's Check or Certified Check issued by a responsible bank or trust company in the amount of 5% of the bid price. Checks must be mailed to Dept. of Public Services, Attn: Jen Sullivan 16C Perry Way, Newburyport, MA 01950 and a copy of the check should be submitted with bid. The award will be for one year with two (2) consecutive one-year options to renew at the sole discretion of the City. A copy of the IFB will be available to view only, at portal Newburyport, from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Bidders must be MassDOT prequalified in "Highway - Construction" at the appropriate dollar threshold. The City of Newburyport reserves the right to cancel any Invitation to Bid, to reject any and all proposals when it is deemed in the best interest of the City.
