Renovation of a water / sewer project in Flora, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The project consists of a Base Bid and an Add Alternate Bid AB-1. The Base Bid consists of the following: Water Tower Cleaning, Repainting and Repairing and is further described as the cleaning, blasting, and repairing of the interior and exterior of a 1,000,000 gallon pedesphere water tower and making welding repairs to the tower as necessary. The Base Bid water tower is located at corner of Vincennes Avenue and Commercial Drive. An example of the Logo for the tower is attached in the Special Provisions. An electronic format of the logo will be provided to the successful contractor. See the attached location map in the Special Provisions for reference. The Alternate Bid AB-1 consists of the following: spot paint repairs of surface rust spots of the West Tower. Additional information for this work is in the Technical Speciications. The Add Alternate Bid AB-1 is located at the northwest corner of Douglas Street and North Worthey Street. See the attached location map in the Special Provisions for reference. CONTRACT Time. The CONTRACTOR shall be substantially completed with the work before November 15, 2022 with the contract being completed and ready for inal payment within 30 days after substantial completion. Failure to complete the Project in the allotted time, liquidated damages SHALL be assessed to the contract price. The damages will be assessed per the following: A. Substantial Completion: Contractor shall pay Owner $300.00 for each day that expires after the time (as duly adjusted pursuant to the Contract) speciied in Paragraph 4.02.A above for Substantial Completion until the Work is substantially complete. B. Completion of Remaining Work: After Substantial Completion, if Contractor shall neglect, refuse, or fail to complete the remaining Work within the Contract Times (as duly adjusted pursuant to the Contract) for completion and readiness for inal payment, Contractor shall pay Owner $300.00 for each day that expires after such time until the Work is completed and ready for inal payment. C. Liquidated damages for failing to timely attain Substantial Completion and inal completion are not additive and will not be imposed concurrently. 5. Method of Payment. Combination of Lump Sum and Unit Prices. B. Bidding documents may be examined at the Flora City Hall, on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. C. All Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, bank cashier's check, bank draft, or certiied check for not less than ive (5) percent of the amount of the bid made payable to City of Flora. 7. The City of Flora, Illinois reserves the right to reject any and all bids and also reserves the right to waive any technicalities in the bidding. All work performed under the contract shall be done pursuant to the laws of the State of Illinois as the City of Flora is a municipality and public entity.
