The Gila Bend Drainage Improvement Project area is located within the Town of Gila Bend approximately bounded by Scott Avenue Wash on the west, Bender Wash on the east and from approximately Indian Road on the north to I-8 to the south. The proposed improvements were identified in the Gila Bend Area Drainage Master Plan Update as being a necessary component to control flooding in the area. Once implemented, this PROJECT will reduce the flood hazard by constructing a series of levees, channels, basins and other drainage improvements in the area.
