Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Norman, Oklahoma. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.
Project Description: GE Johnson Construction Company will be constructing the Young Family Athletic Center (YFAC) which includes the following: The Young Family Athletic Center is a new approximate 122,000 square foot facility built on a 12-acre site on the north side of Norman, OK. The Young Family Athletic Center furthers the citizen-initiated Norman Forward mission to fund and create quality of life projects for the community. This center was impart made possible by a generous $4 million donation from the Young Family Foundation. The aquatic portion of the building will feature two pools: an 8-lane 25-meter competition pool with adequate spectator seating and a 4-lane 25-meter pool used as a warm-up pool during swim competitions. Men's and Women's Locker Rooms are located adjacent to the pools. When the pools are not being used for competitions, the citizens of Norman will have access to the pool for general use and swimming. The Multi-Sport Gymnasium portion of the building, when completed, will each house eight basketball courts with 12 volleyball courts, which overlay the basketball courts. The regulation-size basketball court overlay two basketball courts and runs in the opposite direction. Norman Regional Health System is developing the approximate 25,000 square foot space between the natatorium and multi-sport areas of the building. This two-level space, NMotion, will serve as a sports and human performance center and physician clinics. Other YFAC amenities include concessions, a small retail space, administrative offices, tournament and team breakout rooms, public restrooms, and other standard support areas. Notice to ALL Bidders: Please be advised that this project is subject to the Rules under the venue of Oklahoma State Statute Title 61 (Section 580) for the Construction Management Contract delivery method (see also House Bill No. 2889 and Senate Bill No. 1172). Due to the nature of this project, the required fabrication and delivery of critical materials shall be included in the scope summaries. Multiple crews working in all areas of the project may be required and are to be reflected in your bids. Failure to conduct a thorough site inspection to completely familiarize yourself with the scope of work will NOT relieve any Bidder from their responsibility to provide a complete and comprehensive bid proposal. Any "apparent omission" not specifically shown on the documents or specified that is required (to be furnished and/or installed) to complete the intended scope of work IS REQUIRED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BID and will not constitute a claim for additional or extra work. Successful bidders will be required to meet insurance requirements provided and include pricing for use of Textura billing for this project. All bids are to be sealed and CLEARLY labeled by providing the date, contractor name, project name, and indicating the contract scope being bid on the envelope. if bid exceeds $50K and the Specific Trade Requirements, Affidavit of nondiscrimination's/non-segregated facilities, anti-collusion and business relation form, signed / completed Subcontractor/Vendor Insurance Requirements and Compliance Statement, and the sealed proposal of each bidder. Bidders must include all scope items and any bid that excludes scope items can be determined to be non-compliant bid and not accepted. Bids received after the bid submission time will not be accepted. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the date of bid opening stated above. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding. (Bidder will be responsible for the review of all construction documents.)
