Site work for a road / highway in Camrose, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
1. The Contractor shall from a ~ 3,800 m3 concrete stockpile, pre-screen, crush, screen, measure, and stockpile approximately 6,000t of concrete aggregate at West Dried Meat Lake Regional Landfill (SW-14-44-21-W4) 2. The contractor shall pre-screen the material on a 20-25mm screen to eliminate most of the fine material prior to crushing the aggregate. 3. The Contractor shall crush the aggregate to the following specification: 6:125 Modified Specification Sieve Size - um Percent Passing 125,000 100 80,000 55 - 100 25,000 38 - 100 16,000 32 - 85 5,000 20 - 55 315 6 - 30 80 0 - 10 4. The stockpile of the prescreened material a shall be located within 100 meters of the crusher and specified by the WDML landfill. The contractor shall provide sufficient equipment to stack the pile in the specified location. 5. The stockpile of finished product shall be located 100 meters to the N/East of the un-crushed raw concrete pile and specified prior to crushing. The contractor shall provide sufficient equipment to stack the pile in the specified location. 6. The contractor shall supply equipment to remove any steel that may be in the concrete product. Any steel removed shall be placed by the contractor in the WDML recycling area and remains the property of WDML Regional Landfill. 7. Upon completion of the contract, the contractor shall clean/restore the concrete project area at no expense to the owner to a satisfactory condition as specified by the owner. 8. The Contractor shall adjust and modify aggregates as required in order to meet specification requirements, including but not limited to, splitting of aggregate, separation of metals, and/or rejection of fine aggregate. 9. The County reserves the right to increase or decrease the volume crushed at West Dried Meat Lake Regional Landfill (SW-14-44-21-W4) at its sole discretion without explanation. 10. Aggregate produced shall comply fully with the specifications, and the Contractor shall recognize and satisfy himself as to the type and amount of work that may be necessary to produce the material required. 11. The crushing, screening, and stockpiling and cleanup of the said quantities of aggregate shall be completed in full by March 31st, 2022. 12. The Contractor shall employ and keep on the job sites at all times that work is in progress under this contract a competent person or persons who shall give efficient supervision to the crushing and stockpiling operation, and who will be able to receive and act upon directions, instructions, and notices which may be given by the County. 13. All directions, instructions, and notices on behalf of the County shall be given to the Contractor or his supervisor in writing or email by the Manager of WDMLRL, or in his absence, any other authorized person on his behalf. 14. The Contractor shall keep a daily record of the concrete crushed, screened, and stockpiled. The said daily record is subject to the approval of the Manager of WDMLRL his designate or an appointed checker. The Manager of WDMLRL and designate shall at all times have access to the records of the Contractor, and shall have a reasonable time at the commencement of each working day to inspect, test, balance or do any other thing necessary to ensure the accurate measurement and specifications of the gravel crushed. 15. The Contractor will at all times pay, and be responsible for all losses, claims, demands, actions, suits, costs, expenses and damages which may be incurred by or by reason of any action or other proceeding which shall or may be brought or instituted in respect of injury to persons or damages to property on or near any of the said gravel pits or stockpiles arising out of the excavation for, crushing and stockpiling of concrete by the Contractor, directly or indirectly, and the Contractor shall at all times hereafter save harmless and keep indemnified the County and Landfill Authority from and against all such losses, claims, demands, actions, suits, costs, expenses and damages. 16. The Contractor shall be responsible for the care and protection of all material, and equipment on the job sites, and all damage to the said material and equipment, howsoever caused, shall be made good at the expense of the Contractor. 17. Acceptance of processed aggregates shall take place when such aggregates are in their final position and have met all the requirements of the Contract. Final position for a crushing and stockpiling contract will be the stockpile. 18. The Contractor shall license all vehicles and equipment in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta. 19. The Contractor shall dispose of all waste materials produced by or incidental to the crushing and stockpiling operation as directed by the Manager of WDMLRL or his designate. Upon completion of the crushing the site is to be inspected by a representative of the contractor and the Manager of WDMLRL or his designate to ensure the work site is left in a condition satisfactory to Camrose County. 20. The contractor will be required to place the stockpiles at a location determined by the Manager of WDMLRL or his designate. 21. The Contractor is responsible for the overall safety of their workers. The Contractor is responsible to comply with applicable Environmental Health and Safety Legislation.
