Main St. Sidewalk from Ivory St. to Foss St. STM-26: West Main Street at Foss Street Intersection Drainage Improvements The City of Statesboro Engineering Department is requesting for proposals, engineering design services for intersection and drainage improvements to West Main Street from Ivory Street to Foss Street. If you have any questions, please contact Darren Prather at 912-764-0642 or darren.prather@statesboroga.gov PROJECT LIMITS AND OVERVIEW The project includes any drainage infrastructure, easements, and property acquisition needed to install the sidewalk, and improve the drainage. The design task involves locating the existing right-of-way at Ivory Street, and designing a sidewalk profile to allow for a 5' sidewalk that extends approximately 1400 feet, terminating at Foss Street. Additionally, drainage improvements to West Main from Bay Street to Foss Street will include curb and gutter and larger storm pipes to increase the drainage flow. A hydrology study and hydraulic calculations will be required. A typical City roadway pavement section is to be used. A site location map is attached for your reference. SCOPE OF SERVICES Design plans shall be in Georgia Department of Transportation format and all design shall be in accordance with the latest AASHTO, MUTCD and Georgia Department of Transportation Standards and Specifications. Erosion control plans shall be in accordance with latest NPDES and Georgia EPD requirements. All survey of existing conditions shall be done on state plane coordinates. The plan set shall consist of but is not limited to cover, notes, quantities, plan and profile with cross sections at 50 foot intervals, utility plans, erosion and sediment control plans, details, and right of way plans. The proposal shall include project approach of design, staking of any required right-of-way and easements. Preparation of right-of-way plans and documents shall also be included as part of this proposal. The proposal shall include assistance with all applicable GDOT permitting necessary for this project. The proposal shall include a construction cost estimate to be used in bid tabulation. The estimate will be MS excel format. Upon the City of Statesboro's acceptance of the completed plans, the consultant shall provide an electronic copy of files and drawings in AutoCAD format. The City expects the design plans for the project to be completed by May 2022, so that any right-of-way acquisition can take place shortly after and construction can commence as early as the fall. This project is funded through City TSPLOST funds. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
