This project is the top priority of the Bernalillo County Youth Sports Commission, which includes representatives of all the major youth sports organizations in the County. It is also the highest priority planning effort at County Parks & Recreation pursuant to the Countys Parks Recreation and Open Space Master Plan (PROS Plan). The requested funds will support Phase 2 development of the Swede Scholer Recreation Complex at Mesa del Sol including the construction of up to nine (9) additional fields, extension of water utilities, a tournament stadium, and accompanying water system, drainage, landscaping, parking, and related internal circulation facilities. The request for Phase 2 also includes funding for design of Regional Indoor Sports Facility to provide a much needed indoor tournament quality space for basketball, volleyball, footsall, wrestling, boxing and other indoor sports. As of January 22, 2022 , This project is in included in the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration FY 2023-2027 Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
