The project consists of repairing the pier located at Waterfront Park, also known as Orange Beach Canoe Trail Site 3. The project consists of repairs to the pier including full replacement of all piling, framing, decking, roofing, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and all incidental work as outlined in the bid documents. The Contractor shall provide all labor, machinery, and materials as per specifications to complete all work as listed in the bid documents. Minority and womens business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities and equipment, material and/or supply needs. Sealed bids must be mailed or delivered to the City of Orange Beach prior to the public opening. All sealed bids must be clearly and legibly marked Sealed Bid, the bidders name, the name of the bid, and the opening date and time. A certified check or Bid Bond payable to the City of Orange Beach in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid must accompany the bidders proposal. Work will begin in accordance with the Notice to Proceed with work completed within One Hundred Twenty (120) Calendar Days once commenced. Liquidated damages shall be assessed as outlined in the bid documents. Bids must be submitted on Proposal Forms furnished by the City of Orange Beach or copies thereof. All Bidders bidding in amounts exceeding $50,000 must be licensed under the provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama 1975. Any contractor that desires to bid as a prime contractor must have one of the following classifications of license per Section 230-X-.27 of the State of Alabama Licensing Board for General Contractors Administrative Code before a contract is to be awarded: a.) Building Construction b.) Building Construction under Four Stories c.) Heavy / Railroad d.) Marine Construction sub-classification may be allowed in lieu of the major classification The total amount of uncompleted work under contract to a contractor must not exceed the amount of his or her qualification certificate. Out of state corporations shall furnish a certificate of authority to transact business in Alabama. Out of state limited liability companies shall provide proof of registration to transact business in this state. All bidders must comply with Section 31-13-9, Code of Alabama 1975. Any bidder who employs persons in the State of Alabama must provide proof of enrollment in the E-Verify program along with the bid. All license requirements for the city and state apply and must be met prior to bid opening. Faxed bids will not be accepted. Be advised that overnight delivery by express or courier to Orange Beach is not guaranteed.
