Renovation of a detention facility in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. Working plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
**As of March 30, 2022 no bid received.** This project is being let using a new single trade bidding and contracting process. When 85% or more 27 of the construction cost of a project could be completed by a Single Trade Contractor (mechanical, 28 electrical, plumbing, or fire protection), the Department may bid and contract all work of that 29 construction project directly to a Single Trade Contractor. The State will enter into a single contract 30 with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified single trade MEP contractor. Single trade MEP 31 contractors may bid on single trade projects up to their current division of work certification level for 32 that trade. All Work for this project will be awarded to a single trade Electrical contractor. Bidders 33 shall submit a Single Base Bid for all Work. In general the work consists of replacing the fire alarm system throughout (19) different buildings within the 41 Racine Correctional Institution. The existing fire alarm is antiquated and, in some instances no longer 42 functional. The new system will bring these buildings up to current codes and standards. All fire alarm panels 43 will be connected to a central reporting location, with existing interbuilding fiber optic cabling being re-used 44 for the fire alarm network. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted
