As of July 13, 2023, an award/design team has been identified. Construction will begin in 2025. Bidding for a CMAR will be issued this month, July 2023. All inquiries/questions for information regarding this Request for Proposals should be directed to Dr. Ethel M. Edwards, Capital Procurement Manager at emedwards@nsu.edu and cc a copy to Terry Woodhouse, Sr. Director for Capital Planning and Improvements at twoodhouse@nsu.edu and Richard Law, University Architect at ralaw@nsu.edu no later than 5:00 p.m. (EST) February 14, 2022. All responses to inquiries will be answered by February 25, 2022, not later than 5:00 p.m., and posted to the eVA website as an addendum. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals with the intent to enter into a contract through competitive negotiations for the professional services of an Architectural/Engineering firm, authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Virginia, with experience in programming and planning, design, construction and building systems to support visual arts, digital arts and theoretical and applied music. The A/E shall provide professional services for the project described in Part V of this RFP consistent with the A/E Manual, as revised, and latest directives issued by the Division of Engineering and Buildings concerning construction and professional services for new and renovated State buildings. Firms may partner with other firms to ensure the design team provides the appropriate level of expertise in the required disciplines. However, design teams must designate one lead firm. The lead firm shall be responsible for meeting all of the requirements of the proposal. The Agency is considering Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) as the method of construction project delivery via issuance of a formal Request for Proposals (RFP). Should the project delivery method change, the Agency shall respond and provide applicable information accordingly. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
