Skimikin Lake Recreation Site is located 25 km north-west of Salmon Arm, BC. The Recreation Site is a popular destination for camping, as well as using the surrounding trails for horse riding, ATVing, and dirt biking. Given the popularity of the site, a Site Operator is required to manage and maintain the site for a positive visitor experience. The objective of the Partnership Agreement is to provide the necessary services to the recreating public at a reasonable cost. Revenue collected from the sale of camping permits is retained by the site operator and is used to off-set the cost of maintaining and managing the site. Camping permit fees are set by the Regional Manager in accordance with the formula specified in Section 22(3) of the Forest Recreation Regulations BC Reg. 16/2004. The term of the Partnership Agreement is for a probationary term of one year, with option to renew for up to four more years. The operating season (when fees can be collected) is from April 15 to October 15 annually. Preparation work can start as early as April 1.
