Plan, design, construct, and equip a new Zuni Cultural Center. The Zuni Cultural Center will be established through the transfer of former Zuni Public School District buildings which will be renovated and remodeled to house the Pueblo of Zuni Library, Archives and Museum collections. An environmental assessment, funded by the BIA, has been completed along with a feasibility study. Two building will be renovated; one building is 22,000 sq. ft. and the other is 18,000 sq. ft. The project will be completed in three phases. Phase I will include an architectural assessment for preservation, security, pace lighting, safety, and additional site studies. Phase I will take 4 to 6 months to complete. Phase II will include the design, specifications, and bid documents for the renovation and remodeling of the two buildings. This phase will take 6 to 8 months to complete. Phase III will include renovation construction of the two buildings and the purchase of equipment and furnishings to accommodate archive, museum, and library collections, storage, preservation measures, exhibition, public and research areas, staff offices, etc. Phase III will take 12 to 15 months to complete. The project will be designed by a registered professional architectural/engineering firm and construction services procured through a sealed bid process.
