Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a 113,500-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The work includes the heavy interior renovation of approximately 113,500 GSF of the Existing Convocation Center. This will transform the facility into the new hub for multiple Athletics sports and departments. The building will now be the new home for Volleyball, where varsity matches will move from Godwin Hall and take place in the existing sunken basketball performance court. The existing 480V, 3000A switchboard and the existing HEC utility transformer will be reused. The existing electrical closets and spaces will be reused as much as the renovation plan allows. All lighting fixtures will be replaced. The existing Simplex 4100 fire alarm system will be supplemented with a fully addressable voice evacuation cabinets complying with the NFPA 72. The MDF/Entrance Facility for the building will be reused and will serve as a demarcation room and main distribution room for the building. The existing Lightning protection will remain on the roof of the facility and repaired and supplemented as needed. For this project, the existing steam to hot water heating system and water-cool chiller plant will be re-used, where they have sufficient capacity and are in good condition. The HVAC system will be upgraded at the air handling unit level, where ductwork will be re-used as much as possible.
