Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for the expansion of an educational facility, sidewalk / parking lot and water / sewer project.
The general nature of the work is as follows: The West Des Moines Community Schools is planning on an expansion and renovation to Fairmeadows Elementary School. The work includes construction of a gym addition that will also be a Storm Shelter constructed to ICC-500 requirements. Site improvements include underground storm water detention, parking lot expansion and other miscellaneous scope. Interior renovations include relocating the serving kitchen, a small addition for band/vocal practice rooms and remodeling the old multipurpose room into additional flexible classroom spaces. The project will be constructed in multiple phases to allow the continual use of the building through the school year
