Construction of College Eight/Rachel Carson College - Residence Halls Replace Fire Alarm Devices Garden Building AG, BG, CG and DG includes replacement of fire alarm devices see plans and specifications for additional scope information. The work to be done includes all labor, tools and equipment necessary to furnish and install all materials and equipment shown on the drawings and described herein and to perform tests described herein, to provide complete and operating systems to the extent specified and shown on the drawings. The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, material and supplies, except where specifically noted as existing or supplied by The University. General Description of Work: College Eight/Rachel Carson College - Residence Halls Replace Fire Alarm Devices Garden Building AG, BG, CF and DG at the University of California Santa Cruz, provides 13,588 - square feet to replace the existing fire alarm devices. This work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Replacement of single station smoke alarms while maintaining the fire sprinklers active and monitored. 2. Repair and paint damaged surfaces to match existing adjacent surfaces. 3. Coordination of repairs related to fire alarm and fire protection systems, including related electrical, telephone and data lines. 4. Testing and commissioning of complete installed equipment and systems. 5. Special care shall be given to utility shutdowns of and tie-ins to existing campus utilities. Impact to the campus operations must be minimized. 6. Overall site coordination with adjacent facilities. Continued operations in adjacent facilities are required throughout all phases of construction. Location of Work: University of California Santa Cruz, California campus, at the Kitchen/Dining Building, the Commons Building and the Garden Building AG, BG, CF and DG.
