Saving Project...

Site work and new construction of a civil project in Comox, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the construction of a 1,650-square-foot, two-story above grade water / sewer project.

Design /Build certain infrastructure, being the pump station replacement, pump station upgrades, trenchless sections of the forcemain and cut and cover forcemain within the regional district (the "Project") as further described in Section 2.2, as a part of the larger Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project (the "CVSC Project"). The Project includes the following components: a) abandoning the existing Courtenay Pump Station and replacing it with a new pump station nearby; b) a new sanitary forcemain from the Courtenay Pump Station to the Town of Comox limits through Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure rightof-way, and the KFN IR1. This installation will be done using cut and cover installation; c) upgrades to the existing KFN IR1 Pump Station and new return forcemain to the new Courtenay Pump Station; d) upgrades to the existing Jane Place Pump Station within the Town of Comox limits and a new sanitary forcemain from the pump station connecting to a new forcemain (by others) on Beaufort Avenue; e) a new sanitary forcemain from the Town of Comox limits to the CVWPCC. This installation will be done through cut and cover installation; and f) common installation of fibre optic line, carried via conduit, with the cut and cover forcemain segments. The fibre optic line will follow a separate alignment where the forcemain is installed using the trenchless method. The current scope does not include any removal or decommissioning of the existing forcemain. However, there may be significant benefits to the Design-Builder to install the new forcemain in an alignment, on portions of Comox Road, in place of the existing forcemain, which will warrant a by-pass and connections to the forcemain. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca. *$15.6 million is budgeted toward the construction of the new Courtenay Pump Station as part of the CVSC Project (under construction with Wacor Holdings Ltd). The CVRD will receive grant funding of more than $1.3 million from the federal government and about $8.5 million from the Province of British Columbia through the Green Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. *Construction of the new sewer system infrastructure is expected to span more than 30 months. *Maple-Knappett joint-venture is handling the design-build of the new pump station.
