The Town of Wallingford is seeking a qualified vendor to remove, dispose of and replace the pipe insulation, pipe supports and deteriorated pipe on the water main at the Main Street and Church Street Bridges. Basis of Award: The Town intends to award the bid to the responsive and responsible bidder offering the lowest total estimated cost. Upon written acceptance of the bid the, awarded contractor is to provide all bonds and insurance certificates required and enter into a formal Agreement with the Town within 10 days. Work must begin within seven (7) calendar days after receipt of written Notice to Proceed and must be completed within 180 days after notice to proceed. The Contractor is to provide sufficient labor, tools, materials and equipment to complete the work in this time frame. The work, as proposed by the Wallingford Water Division and covered under this Specification, is to consist of clearing and grubbing of existing vegetation, installation of temporary construction entrances, erosion and sedimentation controls, installation of temporary scaffolding, removal and disposal of existing pipe insulation, replacement of deteriorated pipe, couplings, MJ glands and fasteners, cleaning and recoating of existing pipe, temporary supports for water main, furnish and install custom-fabricated hot dip galvanized pipe supports, installation of pipe insulation and pipe jacket, flushing and testing of main, traffic persons, maintenance and protection of traffic, CT DOT Encroachment, CT NDDB and Town Wetlands permits, USACE Self-Verification form, application of loam and seed, miscellaneous work and cleanup, and all other work required for the Water Mains The Town of Wallingford may require further information and references on any individual or company placing a bid prior to the awarding of a bid. The Purchasing Agent reserves the right to correct an award erroneously made as a result of a clerical error on the part of the Town of Wallingford. The Town intends to award the bids to the responsive and responsible bidder offering the lowest total estimate cost. For multiple year bids, the bid price for each successive year is to greater thn or equal tot he preceding year. Front loaded bids may be rejected.
