Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a parking garage; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Remove existing shrubbery, sidewalk slabs, curbing and mulch. Stop curb removal at the street side of the Macy's sidewalk. Remove damaged slabs adjacent to college wall and stair tower exit. Dispose of all waste material. Remove all shrubbery, mulch and tree from opposite planting area adjacent to the roadway and up to the existing electrical transformer. Saw cut and remove asphalt surface from a point in line with the sidewalk relief joint adjacent to college entry door on the parking garage side. Frame new patio area to provide smooth transitions from existing surfaces to new concrete area. Ensure base material is prepared using current industry standards Pour 4" minimum slab using 3000 PSI concrete. Reinforce with 6 x 6" reinforcing and control joints at a maximum of 6'0" x 6'0". Create positive drainage away from the building. Brush finish final surface. Concrete must be sealed following installation Install bollards along side of new walkway to prevent traffic from entering the patio area from the asphalt parking surface. Install 2 additional bollard on walkway near intersection with mall roadway. After framing is removed, backfill side toward Macy's with fine soil and plant grass seed. Cover seed with clean straw or tackified straw material. On parking garage side, plant perennial plants (TBD) and shrubs around transformer. Mulch entire surface to create a finished look.
