Separation of approximately 1,300 linear feet of combined sewers and construction of sanitary sewers on Market Street, 4th Street and 5th Street. Other Requirements Bids shall be sealed in an opaque envelope and clearly marked as a bid for the Project. The envelope must also bear the name and address of the bidder. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the total bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the necessary bonds if the contract is awarded to him/her. A Performance and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated contract price, shall be required from the Successful Bidder. The Supplementary Conditions set forth requirements for the payment by the Contractor and all Subcontractors of minimum wage rates for all classes of laborers and mechanics as set forth by all applicable provisions of the PA Prevailing Wage Act, and the Bid shall be prepared accordingly. All Iron and Steel products must meet PA Steel Procurement Act Requirements The Newport Borough Municipal Authority reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any and all bids and to award either contract to the lowest responsible bidder for the total of all lump sum items.
