The City of Naperville is accepting bids from authorized vendors for the rehabilitation of approximately 13,600 feet of storm sewer. It is the intent of this specification to provide for the rehabilitation of existing storm sewer pipelines by the installation of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP). A CIPP is formed by the insertion of a resin-impregnated flexible felt tube into the existing pipe. The tube is inverted into the existing conduit by use of a hydrostatic head or air pressure. The resin is cured by circulating hot water or introducing controlled steam within the tube. The finished product is a joint less, tight fitting, structural pipe that is formed to the existing pipe. The City of Naperville Department of Public Works proposes to contract the rehabilitation of existing storm sewer pipelines by the installation of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) under these specifications. The Contractor providing these services shall furnish the necessary supervision labor, equipment and materials to accomplish the work under these specifications for all sites listed on the Bid Worksheets. The contract includes a pre-inspection and cleaning of all pipes, the installation of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP), and the inspection of each completed installation by closed circuit television.
