FIFA 2026 competition venue enhancements and Training Sites. Project may see the delivery of one of two subsequent project packages: PACKAGE 1: Competition Venue Enhancements - a) FIFA 2026 enhancement: Scope items identified relate to meeting contractual obligations as a host city defined by the FIFA 2026 Hosting Requirements and include, but are not limited to, the following: Team Dressing Rooms; Team and Referees' Facilities; Field of Play Upgrades; Players Tunnel and Pitch Area Access; Hospitality - VVIP, VIP Suites, Lounges and Access; Seating Area Improvements; Field of Play Lighting Upgrades; VideoBoard Upgrades; Accessibility/Stadium Flow Improvements; Sanitary Facilities; and media & press centre upgrades. b) Major Rehabilitations (approx. 20 million): This project will involve the design and construction professional services for the critical repairs and maintenance items that are recommended in the approved commonwealth stadium rehabilitation The scope includes but is not limited to architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical wayfinding/signage and Audio Visual systems. The major rehabilitation portion of the project will be delivered over two budget cycles, i.e. 2023-'26 and 2027-'30. Items identified and related to the Commonwealth Stadium Rehabilitation are funded separately but will be coordinated as part of the Capital scope of work for FIFA 2026. PACKAGE 2: FIFA training sites: a) Up to 8 Fields of Play including irrigation, drainage and support infrastructure (spectator seating, sportsfield lighting, scoreboards, sound systems, etc) b) New 1,200 m2 Service Building including: i) Team Dressing Rooms ii) Office Space iii) Maintenance Space iv) Multi-Purpose Space v) Washrooms c) Renovation/Addition to an existing Clubhouse Building (approx. 500m2) d) New Maintenance Building and Yard (approx. 106 m2) TIMELINE: Request for Qualifications for the provision of a Prime Consulting services closed at the owner on February 28, 2022; and five (5) proponents were shortlisted to participate in a subsequent RFP process for design service. However, the project has now been cancelled entirely. No design or construction to ensue. Coverage of this report is discontinued at this time.
