The Rural Municipality of McKillop No. 220 is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to provide a condition assessment of the municipal roads and assist the RM in the development of an Asset Management Plan. This includes identifying risks to the road infrastructure and determining maintenance and repair requirements for the short-term (<5) years and the long-term (5-10 years). The Rural Municipality of McKillop No. 220 was established as the Rural Municipality of Strasbourg No. 220 on December 13, 1909 and was renamed the Rural Municipality of McKillop No. 220 on July 7, 1919.The RM consists of 7 1/2 townships, encompassing 665 square kilometers of land. It lies to the south of the RM of Last Mountain Valley and to the west of the RM of Longlaketon, with Last Mountain Lake as McKillop's western and southern borders. The RM has a permanent population of 732 according to the 2016 census and approximately 1800 ratepayers. The Rural Municipality of McKillop No. 220 is seeking a suitable engineering or otherwise qualified firm to perform the following: Assess and conditionally rate each municipal road segment within the RM of McKillop.
Guide and train RM staff in the assessment and condition rating process.
Aid the RM with Community and staff engagement to identify ratepayers' service values, expectations and future demand on road infrastructure. This may include; surveys, workshops, staff interviews etc.
Oversee the development of an Asset Management Plan for municipal roads that will guide future road projects and activities. The final document should include: Identified maintenance , repair and rehabilitation needs of road segment The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
