SPECIFICATIONS: Invitation to Quote: Hurricane Ida Green Infrastructure Restoration The Department of Parks and Parkways is seeking bids for watering of 506 young trees. The following requirements apply to the work: - Watering shall occur through October 31, 2022 as follows: o A minimum of two (2) times per week for one full year during the months of March through October, and o One (1) time per week during the remainder of the year o The six (6) palms on Poydras Street require watering two (2) times per week year round. - Trees to be irrigated will be marked in the field with flagging tape. - At each irrigation, apply 2-3 gallons per inch trunk caliper to the root ball and slow-release watering bag. o Apply it slowly in a manner so all water soaks into the entire root ball. o Do not water if root ball is wet/saturated on the irrigation day. o Ensure that the entire root area is soaked in water. o Water shall be applied with handheld hoses. o Contractor shall furnish the water to ensure adequate irrigation. o Overwatering or flooding is not permitted. Page 3 of 3 Sourcing Event - ITQ Form February 2020 - The Contractor must provide progress updates as follows: o On EACH DAY that the crew performs watering, the Contractor must email Parkways at hdbowen@nola.gov PRIOR TO departure of the crew, to alert Parkways of the scheduled watering times and routes for that day. Compensation will be contingent upon completion of this task. - Refer to Exhibit A for a map of watering locations. - Refer to Exhibit B for a spreadsheet of watering locations.
