Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.
Update: This capital project entails replacing the 10-ton Carrier unit (approximately 26 years old) and the TRANE unit (approximately 20 years old) with a new mini-split system including the following equipment: one Daikin 14-ton VRV condensing unit, one Daikin 2-ton ceiling suspended on way blow unit, two Daikin 3-ton ceiling suspended on way blow units, one Daikin .7k BTU wall mount head, three Daikin 2-ton wall mount heads, piping, thermostats, condenser stands, related roof work, waterproofing, electrical equipment, and subpanel. In addition, the scope includes demolition, permitting, and engineering. New rooftop unit are not feasible, as their size is too big for the roof. The current HVAC system continues to fail, resulting in the lack of air conditioning on all floors of the Senior Center. Due to the age of the system, equipment parts are no longer available. The Senior Center serves older adults many of whom have respiratory challenges and thereby making it essential to provide adequate and functioning air conditioning. The Senior Center also serves as an emergency cooling center for the city. Excessive noise affects programming and functioning at the Center. The new units will be cost-efficient, enhance air quality, and reduce noise pollution. The COA's Outreach staff is often unable to hear their clients (whether on the telephone or in the office) when the overhead vents activate and a forceful surge of air pushes through the vents. This disruption occurs without notice, sometimes lasting as long as twenty minutes, and causes significant difficulties for the staff to perform its duties. This project is in included in the City of Attleboro FY 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of February 04, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
