Bids may be withdrawn using the procedure set forth in Virginia Code 2.2-4330B.2. The Town will award the contract on a lump sum basis. The project will consist of the following work: Construction of new standby diesel generator and associated site and electrical improvements at the Waugh's Ferry Road Pump Station. Bid documents consisting of project manual and drawings are open to the public for inspection at the following locations: Valley Construction News, 426 West Campbell Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24016. Bid Security: Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or an acceptable bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the base bid. Bidders must be licensed as Contractors in the Commonwealth of Virginia in accordance with Title 54.1, Chapter 11 of the Code of Virginia (1950) as amended. MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders must comply with the following: the President's Executive Order #11246 prohibiting discrimination in employment regarding race, color, creed, sex, or national origin; the President's Executive Orders #12138 and #11625 regarding utilization of MBE/WBE firms; the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, and Section 436 of P. L. 113-76, American Iron and Steel. Bidders must certify that they do not or will not maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin. will prosecute the work and shall be substantially complete as defined in the general conditions within 180 calendar days and complete all obligations within 210 calendar days
