LEGAL NOTICE TO BIDDERS 1.Time arid Place of Bid Openings: Bids will be reviewed and acted upon by the Mayor and City Council at the February 28, 2022 Peru Council meeting and at the March 7, 2022 La Salle Council Meeting. 2. Description of Work: The proposed work is officially known as "City of La Salle & City of Peru. 24th Street/Wenzel Road Roadway Improvements - 2022" and further described as 6,790 CY of earth excavation; 9,679 SY of 7.5" granular sub-base and 6" aggregate base on geotech fabric; 4,310 Ton HMA Binder & Surface; 2,688 FT of varying sizes of storm sewer; 43 structures; 5,207 FT of curb & gutter, including all other work as further described in the plans and specifications for said work prepared by the City of La Salle. 3. Availability of Plans and Specifications:4.Contractor Selection: Contract award shall be made to the lowest, responsible bidderwhose bid properly addresses and complies with the invitation, and is most advantageous to both Cities, price and other factors considered. 6. Prevailing Wage Rate: Not less than the prevailing rate of wages found by the City of La Salle, City of Peru or the Department of Labor, or determined by a court of review shall be paid to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under any contract for the proposed construction. If the prevailing wage rates are revised by the Illinois Department of Labor at any time during the term of the contract, the revised prevailing wage rates shall apply to work performed pursuant to the contract, and all contractors and subcontractors shall pay their employees in accordance with the revised prevailing wage rates, 7. Contract Bond: The successful bidder for the construction of the improvements will be required to enter into a bond equal to 100% of the amount of the bid with sureties to be approved by both City's the Mayor and City Council, when entering into the contract for construction of the improvements, which shall be conditioned upon the proper and faithful payment & performance by the contractor of the work specified in accordance with the plans and specifications thereof. 8. Rejection of Bids: The City of La Salle & City of Peru acting through their City Engineers reserve the right to defer the Award of the Contract for a period not to exceed 60 calendar days after the date bids are to be received, and to accept or reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities.
