As of December 14, 2023, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design status. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Colorado Springs Public Works Department acting as project lead on behalf of the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG), El Paso County Department of Public Works, and the Colorado Department of Transportation (collectively the 'Working Group'); is seeking professional engineering and environment clearance services for the preliminary design of the US Hwy 24 and Peterson Road/Boulevard Interchange Design Planning Project. The Project is being funded through a federal grant from the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) and local match contributions from the PPACG and the City of Colorado Springs (City). The City is not a recipient of grant funds but will assist PPACG staff by managing the Consultant contract, reviewing work products produced by the Consultant, and coordinating with the Working Group and other affected stakeholders.
