The project is expected to be awarded on March 24, 2022.** CITY PROJECT NO. 21-02 DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK: The Work comprises application of weed killer to all pavement cracks or joints; cleaning, routing, and installation of crack-sealant or asphalt pavement in all pavement cracks or joints 1/4 " or wider; construction of approximately 2,700,000 Square Feet of Rubber Polymer Modified Slurry (RPMS); removal and replacement of existing traffic striping and markings; and all appurtenant work on various streets throughout the City of Palm Springs. The Engineer's estimate is $940,000 to $980,000. The work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of: 50 working days. AWARD OF CONTRACT: a) The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, on the basis of the total sum of Bid Schedule A, and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City. b) As a condition of award, the successful bidder will be required to submit payment and performance bonds and insurance. c) As a condition of award, the contractor and any subcontractor listed on the bid must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the California Labor Code. BID SECURITY: each bid shall be accompanied by proof of a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond in the amount of 10 percent of the total bid price payable to the City of Palm Springs. BIDS TO REMAIN OPEN: The Bidder shall guarantee the Total Bid Price for a period of 120 calendar days from the date of bid opening. CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE CLASSIFICATION: The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or C-12 Contractors license at the time of submitting bids. CALIFORNIA WAGE RATE REQUIREMENTS: The Contractor shall pay the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California for the locality where the work is to be performed. All contractors and subcontractors must furnish electronic certified payroll records directly to the Labor Commissioner (via the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement) as further described in Article 5 of the Construction Contract (Mutual Obligations). RETAINAGE FROM PAYMENTS: The Contractor may elect to receive 100 percent of payments due under the Contract Documents from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code.
