The City of Atlantic Beach, FL is currently requesting sealed bids from Certified Roofing Contractors to furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and safety equipment necessary to properly remove, and replace the shingles - and all other items noted - from its City Hall building located at 800 Seminole Road, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233 in accordance with the complete bid specifications. The project consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials and safety equipment necessary to properly remove and replace all shingles, underlayment, starter strips, metal flashing, ridge vents, drip edges, eave flashing, lead vent pipe flashing, and any rotten wood at the City of Atlantic Beach City Hall located at 800 Seminole Road. All damaged sheathing and roof rakes shall be replaced as needed and all sheathing shall be re-nailed per FBC-EB, Section 706. All lead plumbing vent pipe flashing shall be painted to match roof color. All gutters and downspouts shall be replaced in-kind with coordination from the Public Works Department, except that, on the east side of the building, replace the existing spouts with nine (9) white downspouts and leaders attached at building columns. Any cedar siding shingles or wall flashing damaged by construction must be replaced. All removed materials must be hauled away. All work shall be completed in accordance with Section 01020, and the Contract Documents. All questions must be submitted in writing via e-mail with the bid number noted within the Subject Line. The deadline for questions will be 4:00 PM Thursday, February 17, 2022. All questions and answers will be posted to the City's site. Bidders are responsible for staying informed of any changes/addenda that may be posted. No bidder or persons affiliated with the bidder shall contact any City employee or affiliate by phone or in person to discuss this bid prior to the bid opening, otherwise known as the Cone of Silence. The only exception to this rule is the site visit. All questions stemming from that site visit will be submitted in writing so that all bidders are kept informed. Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the bid. A Performance and Payment Bond will be required of the successful bidder. Bid prices must remain valid for ninety ( 90) days after the public opening of the bids. Goods and services proposed shall meet all requirements of the Ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach. Bidders must show proof of possessing a current Certified Roofing Contractor's License, and must be permitted to work in the state of Florida. Bidders must show proof of being in business under the same name and tax identification number for five (5) consecutive years. When providing proof of experience of similar jobs, please provide the job title, brief description, and start and end dates. While there will be no pre-bid meeting, bidders are required to complete a documented site visit to familiarize themselves with the nature, and extent of the project, as well as the local conditions. The site visit form must be signed by an authorized City employee, and that form must be included with your sealed bid. All bids must be submitted in TRIPLICATE with one (1) being an original and identified as such, and two (2) hard copies, and one (1) digital copy of the complete original. Bids must be submitted as three (3) complete packages and delivered in one (1) package/envelope. The outside of the delivered package MUST clearly state your company name, bid number, bid title, and bid opening date. Please refer to the Submittal Instructions to avoid possible disqualification of your bid. The City of Atlantic Beach reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts of bids, waive informalities and technicalities, make award in whole or in part with or without cause, and to make the award in what is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Atlantic Beach.
