Site work for a road / highway in Windsor, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The City of Hartford ("City") is seeking to engage a utility company to furnish and install a fiber optic cable in new conduit in the ground, in the public right-of-way, along N. Main Street and Windsor Ave in Hartford CT. The City will match 50% the cost of the project, up to $750,000. We are looking for competitively priced proposals to reduce the City's financial contribution to this project. The conduit will be owned by the City with shared use by the utility. The City will require their share of the fiber optic cable to have enough fiber strands to support WiFi to people along this route and cameras both for traffic and security. Where applicable the fiber cable can be attached to a pole using municipal gain space. All pole attachments/make ready will be the responsibility of the utility. The selected utility will provide planning, engineering design, and construction services to furnish and install fiber optic cable in the subject streets (see accompanying map attached to this RFP), including providing a layout for the construction of the underground cable and all ancillary equipment and sized appropriately to serve the utility's and City's needs.
