Renovation of a mixed-use development in Bridgewater, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Work required pursuant to this contract includes the following: a. Furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, services and incidentals necessary for the removal of existing roof systems down to the existing wood roof deck and the installation of the following: - A new structural standing seam metal roof system of approximately 3,255 sq. ft. on sloped roof decks (slope approximately 7/12). The new roof system shall have a 30 year non pro-rated, no dollar limit labor and material warranty. - A new modified bituminous roof system of approximately 2,344 sq. ft. on 2" flat stock insulation on a sloped roof deck. The new roof system shall have a 30 year non pro-rated, no dollar limit labor and material warranty. b. Other significant work includes installation of new gutters, vertical rainwater leaders, removal of unused opening, and re-pointing of the existing brick chimney.. c. General and Subcontract Bids shall consist of but are not limited to: general construction, carpentry, sheet metal work, electrical work, site restoration and all other work necessary for or incidental to the full completion of the entire project, including all equipment, labor, material, and incidentals in connection therewith. The work of this contract must be substantially complete by August 24, 2022. If not substantially complete by August 24, 2022 the contractor shall face a penalty of $1,000.00 for every calendar day beyond the substantial completion date. The Contractor must submit with the bid evidence from the roof system manufacturer the bidder is certified by the roof system manufacturer to install the specified 30 year single source warrantied roof system for both the sloped metal roof and the low slope modified built-up roof. The selected bidder will be required to post a Performance Bond in the full amount of the Contract Sum. The successful bidder must file a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond, a one hundred percent (100%) Labor & Materials Bond and Certificate of Insurance to the Finance Director within ten (10) days of notice of bid award All bid proposals must be submitted on the designated forms. The Region 12 Board of Education reserves the right to waive any defect in any bid and reserves the right to reject any or all bids. All bids must be completely filled out when submitted. The Region 12 Board of Education, CT reserves the right to reject the low bid, or the unit prices when deemed in the best interest of the Owner, and to negotiate with the lowest qualified bidder.
