Renovation of a stadium in Hoquiam, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a stadium.
DESCRIPTION: Olympic Stadium is a heavy timber structure completed in 1938 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Primary work consists of: the deteriorated east wall of the stadium will be rebuilt. Shingle siding will be replaced on the south side of the stadium. And new restroom(s) will be added to the main entry area. FUNDING SOURCE: This project is partially funded through the Washington State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Maximum funds available for construction are $900,000, which includes state sales tax. Subrecipient Project Manager: Brian Shay, City Administrator, City of Hoquiam (360) 538-3983 bshay@cityofhoquiam.com Addenda may be issued for the purpose of clarification and/or revision of the Project Manual and/or Drawings. Addenda will be sent to known bidders and will become part of the Contract Documents. Any costs resulting from Addenda should be included in the Bid Sum. Direct all questions in writing to Aaron Gozart at the office of the Architect, email aaron@harborarchitects.com. Submit questions no later than (3) days prior to the date for receipt of Bids. Clarifications will be included in Addenda. Verbal answers and clarifications are not binding on any party. Bidders shall be bound by their bids for for (30) calendar days following the bid opening. A bid security, in the form of a certified check, bank cashier's check or bid bond is required with each Bid in an amount equal to (5) percent of the Base Bid plus Additive Alternates, if any. Should a bidder fail to enter into an Agreement with the Owner and/or fail to furnish the bonds required by the Contract Documents within ten (10) days after his/her Bid has been accepted, the Contractor's Bid Security shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages, not as a penalty Contractor shall secure, include costs therefore in the Bid, and pay for bonds issued by a bonding company with a Best's rating of "A", or better, and licensed to transact business in the State of Washington in Statutory Form. Liability under each of the bonds shall be 100 percent of the contract sum, including state sales tax, for: Performance, Labor and Material Payment, and one-year maintenance for correction of defective work. Representatives for the Owner and the Architect will be available to answer questions. To be eligible to bid, all bidders must physically inspect the premises and familiarize themselves with all existing conditions. Bidders will be required to submit the following documents: Non-Collusion Affidavit, Certification Regarding Responsibility Matters, Certification of Compliance with Wage Payment Statutes WA State Prevailing Wage Rates: Shall apply. Federal Davis-Bacon Wage Rates: Shall apply. All work performed on this project will be subject to the higher rates of the above. The lowest responsive bid, including selected Alternates shall be the sole basis of award. The City of Hoquiam reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids not accompanied by bid security or data required by the bidding documents or a bid in any way incomplete or irregular.
