The City of Traverse City, a Lake Michigan community of 15,700 residents, is seeking services of a highly qualified Consultant (firm, nonprofit organization, private agency) to assist with a city-wide community visioning and master plan development process. The Consultant will prepare a new master plan for Traverse City to replace the current Master Plan originally adopted in 2009 and updated in 2017. The Consultant hired will provide professional services to lead an extensive, inclusive, and innovative community engagement process to develop a new master plan. The master plan process will include the assessment of current conditions, identification of community values, and examination of the drivers of change and the prioritization of implementation steps to achieve a vibrant, sustainable, resilient, and accessible city. The ideal Consultant team will include members with the following specialties: city planning, urban design, environmental planning, transportation planning, resiliency planning, placemaking, civil engineering, and public engagement. The final draft of the Master Plan is expected to be completed in approximately 18-24 months from the contract award date. The project budget is included in this proposal and respondents are encouraged to submit their most cost-effective bid.
